  • Listen to the latest episode of Dynamically Spoken which will release later today. There will be a separate instruction on how that contest will go that’s going to be included in the initial post. You can win one out of 10 keys with this contest.
  • Last but not least: follow us on twitter and answer a trivia question for a chance to win a beta key. Enjoy the contest and good luck!

My favorite combination would be a mesmer Sylvari. I think this race is most “magic” of the univers of Guild Wars 2. The mesmer was always my favorite class because it is a special magician with charism.

  • Robbie Stricklin

My favorite Combo is a Necro Charr. The fact that the Charr do not like those who use magic but prefer those who use strength and cunning instead, made me want to create a charr magic user. Being a unwanted person in society but yet being a hero is a great combination in my opinion

  • Dorf

Charr elementalist sounds pretty good. With the thunder hammer of course

  • Scyth13

I’m leaning heavily on the Charr Guardian. Since Guild Wars 1 I’ve always been a fan of the Charr and their militaristic society, and when I heard they were playable in Guild Wars 2 I was sold on my race. As for the Guardian, as a Paragon main in Guild Wars as well as a support-minded MMO player, the Guardian has always stood out to me from the moment it was revealed as the class I wanted to play. Just throw the two together, and you get a Charr Guardian.

  • asturel

Sylvari Mesmer, i like magic ;>

  • CheesyWhales

My favorite combo would have to be Norn Archer. There is just something about a large woman firing off arrows that is just… Awesome. You can bet I’ll be making one of those ;)

  • Channfree

My favorite has to be an Asura Warrior.  The thought of a little snobby little “dobby” (Harry Potter Elf)  Just decapitating huge monsters is awesome.   Idk, I just have a thing with going the opposite of want ppl expect.  Lol.   Its more fun. Let’s face it,  games are supposed to be fun.  :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1263554257 Joshua Knorr

Mesmer Human, Greatsword PvP spec is fantastic and so much fun. really new and fun class :)

  • http://twitter.com/macfreddou Frederic Salort

My favorite combination is Sylvari / Necro. After reading the book “Ghosts of Ascalon” I really loved the character Killeen, born from the Cycle of the Night, so I want to live her story when I’ll play this game. :-)

  • iKeelMellow

my favourite combination would be a norn thief. being stealthy and doing large burst damage are my favourite and also i like the tatto of norn characters :D

  • http://twitter.com/TomWilliamMc Thomas McArdle

    hey

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=753028055 Chaz Foulstone

My favorite combo would have to be an Asura Elementalist.
I have always seen the Asura as a vastly intelligent race, and coupled with the versatility and power of an Elem, I think this is a great combination.

  • http://www.facebook.com/linkfan57X Scott Rushing

I love the combination of Ranger and Sylvari.  Call me traditional, but nothing beats a nature rover better than nature itself!  Imagine it:  Not only do you feel in tune with nature, you practically ARE nature!

  • Uber_Justin

My favorite is a sylvari thief. The sylvari are new to the world, and generally full of honor, but I want to play my sylvari as one who isn’t evil, just a bit of a scamp. She was influenced, in the dream, by visions of brave men and women who are loud and boisterous, and sail the oceans digging up treasures and occasionally causing a little trouble for others. My sylvari becomes a pirate captain, using her agility and her pistols to explore every nook of Tyroa’s oceans to find the lost things forgotten by the land-lubbers.

  • Will Aspin

Sylvari ranger is my favorite combination. Cant wait for august 28th!

    • Will Aspin

and thats my favorite because the sylvari are aparently born to kill the elder dragons, and range classes ftw? haha

  • Mesmer

My favorite combination is human und mesmer. I think these two fit perfectly, because the human queen is a mesmer as well ;) Additionally I just love the mesmer :)

  • http://twitter.com/HappySlayerUK Craig

My favourite combination would be a Norn engineer because I like hitting things and then blowing them into little pieces. (in the game world, not real life, obviously)

  • DreamSundae

I really want to be a elementalist Sylvari because I am a bit of a nature lover and I think they would go well together. Also maybe a bit of a thing for roleplaying….

  • http://twitter.com/Bdenny96 Ben Denny

Asura Engineer there cuddly little guys with the best running animation ever, and that stumble they have is hilarious whenever they jump and for the Engineer I want to have just a crew of turrets and have a tool-kit and fix my turrets TF2 Style and just watch enemies fall over.

  • http://twitter.com/onefusionllp Sean Ringrose

It took some thought and consideration, but I would have to say my favorite combination of race and profession would be an Asuran Ranger.  First, seeing an Asura wield a longbow all by itself is reason enough, but then seeing an Asura with a bear for a pet?  Yeah, not to mention you get your hybrid of ranged and melee, without having to worry too much about personal weakness.  If not Asuran Ranger then definitely Asuran Engineer.  Ausra + bombs?  Yes.  Please.

  • http://twitter.com/Prescoco Prescovie

My favorite race/profession combination would definitely have to be Asura/Guardian. The Idea of having such a small character constantly (I’m not saying tanking) defending the party sounds like a hilariously fun combination, But I can’t be too sure it’s such a smart choice until I see the Asura’s Race skills. Here’s to hoping they are amazing!

  • Kalevinrajo

Sylvari necromancer is an interesting class combo. It’s the right combination of lore; Sylvari are naturally curious, so I can imagine them being very fascinated with how life and death works, especially with the complicated afterlife Tyria has. I can see them delving into Human writings on the Mists, combining that with Asura theories on Great Alchemy, and searching for a unified theory that aligns both philosophies.

That and I remember Sylvari grow their own clothing, and it’d be interesting to see naturally growing death adorning my hero. Runner up for that reasoning would be mesmerizing, because I’m certain the artists enjoyed creating robes entirely out of petals.

  • http://twitter.com/Gaalie pitz bull

Warrior Human as I just want to get a hammer and bash heads in….

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1256804555 Tamirat Amari

My favorite race is currently the Asura and I’d love to be a Thief. Just seeing a small asura flipping around enemies is both amusing and amazing.

  • Stuart Herrington

Human Necromancer/Monk, because it was my first character on GW, and the only spellcaster i’ve ever enjoyed in an MMO. Lifestealing, death manipulation and healing spells, might seem an usual contrast but i loved it. Hopefully in GW2 i will be able to play a similar role. :)

  • http://twitter.com/Skar_Hand Joshua Woodard

Human/mesmer: I abosolutely loved mesmer in GW1. I am very excited to be able to try GW2 mesmer soon. COME QUICKLY AUG 28!!!

  • http://twitter.com/Klaus9090 Klaus Krummenauer

I like Human Mesmer (female) the most at the moment because she looks really elegant and in my opinion that perfectly fits to her magic. Additionally, her movement is animated really cool. :)

  • Zubey

I like Norn / Guardian.  The solemn dignity of the Norn plus tanky support of Guardian.

  • Brett Chambers

Thief is by far my favorite profession and I think the Asura will add just the right amount of cockiness to it. I love the fast paced fell of the thief class overall.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nimshot Krisjanis Zvaigzne

Asura Thief, there’s just no better feeling than victory while being the smallest creature on field! :D

  • Barnaba

Charr Necromancer of course. Why? Because its gonna be dark…wait for it….ness :)

  • Jurome Chang

Think of a Charr Mesmer, now think of one without all the butterflies and pink spell effects. Messing with someone’s mind is the ultimate battle: making an enemy see an illusion of his dead family can really shake up his or her resolve.

Unfortunately, current mesmer animations are still pretty and dazzling, but the thought of an individual using his cunning to create painful illusions for his enemy is quite bad ass. Furthermore, a charr mesmer would fit the role of one in the Ash Legion, where such cunning is not only useful, but also promoted among its ranks.

  • Kikuichi

Norn elementalist. I like the idea of a heavyweight mage with some physical force behind the spell casting. Also, the Norn are appealing to me because of their deep connection to animal spirits. They’re a proud and heroic and jolly at times.

  • Jenny Stuart

My favourite combination is a Charr ranger, because I love the charr lore and history, especially their relationship with the humans, who used to be their enemies. The ranger profession is great, as anything to do with nature has always appealed to me, and in my mind the ‘steampunk’ theme of the charr is a contrast with anything natural, so it should be interesting to play and see how that turns out.

  • http://twitter.com/Glue_ebooks WILL WHEATON

I love the idea of an Asuran Warrior. Small, but packs a punch. Don’t cross me, bookah.

  • http://www.facebook.com/stosic.nemanja Немања Стошић

My favourite is Charr warrior. Charrs are brutal and fearless, and that’s the way warriors are supposed to be :)

  • Nydac1

Definately Human Mesmer. I think it’s the most confusing class/race combo to the enemy. Enemy confused = win!

  • Sglfb

I linke the idea of a sylvari ranger. For me it combines the natural way with the necessity of hunting food without really wanting to harm or waste an animal.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/HDEDUGCBTUHKHL6C7G4MKAEFZ4 Mr

The best combination in my opinion is the Norn Ranger. The reason is simple: Norn = Hunt = Ranger :D

  • Lucasacp

My favourite is Charr Warrior, because of all the lore behind this race. Now hat they have their home again, its when they need the most their Warriors to fight and protect the city and what ahs been conquered by the great champions of the Charrs.

  • Seno Adhimuhammad

My favorite combo is Charr Warrior.. because I like a brutal heavy warrior with a sword and kill all enemies… And I like charr’s movement style…

  • http://twitter.com/LuboSuk Luboš Suk

Best will be Silvari Necromancer female. Some dark armor, white hair, evil face… And nature silvari become a necromancer is a nice thought. Some kind of defiler :)

  • Ojike

Asura Thief, just because they can be sneaky and just annoying. :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/kinetheartitst Filippo Chinello

My favorite Combo is Mesmer Sylvari!:D it looks like a real organic creature so different from other mmo elves and so original in equip and cities, then Mesmer because it’s something like and illusionist who can hide and do lot of other things even with non-magical weapons.

The Mesmer seems to be strong in joke and intellect and Sylvari seems to represent this aspect as well:)

  • Cassio Reinaldo Amaral

Human Ranger. Because I love archery and human rulez!

  • Ynozzar

I like Asura Mesmer. It’s just nice being an uber-little character, making illusions and confusing people, so much fun =D

  • Helloimamole

Sylvari Mesmer. Because the Sylvari are plants, but their appearance create the illusion of being a humanoid – as the mesmer use illusions to confuse his/hers enemy. Perfect match, eh?

  • Drozes

Sylvari/Ranger –  Kite like nobody matter and greatSword if you get in close.  Plus – Get your pet to rez — Countless!!!

  • Ren4gat0

Just a standard human mesmer for me please, no fancy bipedal cows, tree folk or little fairy people, thank you.

  • Pingback: Still Without a Guild Wars 2 Beta Key? Here’s a List of Sites With Giveaway Contests | blast-o-rama.

  • Chandler

Human thief, just like me in real life :)

    Kidding. They’re just awesome!

  • http://www.facebook.com/josecocojr Jose Carlos Quintas Junior

Sylvari/Thief please, cause an elf-like thief living in the woods and giving to the poor like Robin Hood is the way to go.

  • deathrat

Norn Warrior, because of their large size and strength, perfect for wielding a massive warhammer.

  • Dark Lappen

I will make a Charr mesmer, because in GW1 I allready played it and I think this is going to be very funny. And mesmer – Charr isn’t a bad combination. Mesmers aren’t all time pink, don’t be stupid! :D

  • Boarpi

The human is fix, but… i need help! I want to try the warrior, ranger and mesmer because i cant choose yet… :/

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1838410904 Samuel Booth

Slyvari Necromancer. Cause its quite unusual for a being who worships life, to be a lord over death; and I love the weird ideas!

  • Tom Hunter II

Human Guardian. I think it fits the race’s consistent faith in their Gods with having a mystical Guardian class which acts as a servant of their purpose. I also have personal reasons for choosing both the race human (because of my own faith) and the Guardian because of my own desire to protect others.

  • zuluhammer

Sylvari Necromancer because a human/tree that sucks the life out of you is all things correct.

  • DragonMasterDre

Charr Mesmer, because i mean who does not want to be a massive cat beast that messes with your head. I even love the Mesmer quote “When I’m done with you, you won’t trust your own mind.”

  • Brimstar

Asura Guardian, simply because wielding a hammer bigger than you is hilariously awesome.

  • Andar1on

Human Necromancer. Human has nothing special compared to other classes, he seems to be “innocent” and thats the point, its disturbing, like necromancer who has no mercy and in that “innocent” body are hidden very strong and dark powers.

  • Dean Dungo

I love an Asura Elementalist. The fact they take tinkering with magic to a whole new level shows their ingenuity and play with fire (literally) as if it were a simple toy.  Fits their ego quite well. Why stop at GOLEMS when you can control the elements themselves?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=512744500 Lauryn Krzyzkowski

My favorite combination would be the Norn Ranger because I enjoy pet classes and I can’t wait to turn into a leopard while controlling a pet. The Norn class has interested me ever since I read that they can transform into animals.

  • John Krisch

Charr Engineer because it seems like their entire lore is about being inventive in making war machines (turrets, mines, grenades, flamethrower)

  • xXAgeofPandazXx

Asura engineer.. its a very good combo lore wise because asura are very intelligent and are little tinkers

  • Pingback: This week in Guild Wars 2 | GuildMag - Guild Wars 2 Fansite: Magazine, Podcast, Editorials and more

  • Szayaikiael

    Norn Warrior. ‘CAUSE I’M SCOTTISH.

  • Yollm

Favorite combo? So far, Charr Guardian seems the coolest to me.

  • javan

Norn Warrior because im from norway in the scandinavian where the VIKINGS are !

  • http://twitter.com/cevapcic12 Andrej Knez

Sylvari ranger The best combination ever :P, They are already like grass so why not hunt like grass :P

  • Ron Nester

Asura Necro. I like playing cool op classes.

  • Sinful

Sylvari and ranger, since the rangers already commune with the nature and I think it’s an awesome roleplay opportunity! :)

  • Grimmace

Asura/Thief, because you can’t blame a cute AND intelligent creature like that for stealing your gold.

  • Justin

Human/Warrior, because i like to bad peoples faces in.

  • http://www.facebook.com/1lonelycat Joel Collicott

Asura Elementalist  of course, because magic pwns

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=684534318 Henrik Vreim

I like Human Mesmer (female) the most at the moment because she looks really elegant and in my opinion that perfectly fits to her magic. Additionally, her movement is animated really cool.

  • Michał Krawczyk

My favorite combination is Human Engineer because human with big rifle, flamethrower and googles is looking like psycho scientist :D

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/QAKQZSES7R7LHMI5UIJJ4CHF3Q Accaunt

    Ashura/Thief  because its damn cool

  • Zachary

Favorite combo so far would have so be an elemental asura, I love being intellectual and magic/dps is fun as hell. Still don’t know if I am going to get this game, this is my opportunity to try it out ;-)

  • Matt198992

Sylvari engineer. They look unique; too many MMOs are focusing on the age old “elf, dwarf, human, etc…” races. At least guild wars 2 has some imagination.

Thinking about Norn too… too many decisions.

  • Christian Medina

Charr Warrior, I’ve always been a fan of the Charr since SPOILER they rampaged through that Ascalon area, and warrior has just always been my favorite class. Come on, who doesn’t love a giant sword and awesome looking armor?

  • Jorge Kaique

Nallah Syorr, a Female Charr Necromancer. The oldest and wisest of the band. Someone who knows the value of life and respects the power of death and communes with it. Fearless, centered and awared that death fades it all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/carl.evans.948 Carl Evans

Asura Necromancer – Asura comes across a group of bandits. Bandits think woot easy pickings. “Give us all your gold!” Asura laughs and says “Do you really want to do this?” Bandit reply’s “Yes”. Asure summons army of undead and laughs manically as the bandits run for their lives.

  • TerumiYuuki

Asura Elementalist cause i enjoy magic things.

    • Monkeysuzanne

+1 Asura elementalist =D Tiny magical yoda

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrew.marzuki.1 Andrew Marzuki

Charr warrior, the starting zone so full of war, and the beast for warrior? it will be very amazing..

  • Beoulus

Asura Thief is my plan for a main!! it just seems right. easy to hide from danger and disappear into the foliage if detected!

  • http://www.facebook.com/konqueror.khanage Konqueror Khanage

human necromancer I see dead people, the ability to raise the dead looks awesome and human females are probably the sexiest class in the game

  • Lil_maq

Sylvari elementalist because I think that as Sylvaris are made from earth by awakening beneath the pale tree that they would be very lore appropriate to harness all the elements from nature.
Also Sylvari are unlike anything I have seen in a mmo.
I think a great skill combo for a Sylvari ele would .be tornado while earth attuned so that you could send earth like debris flying from the tornado. Would look like you where shedding parts of your skin.

  • http://twitter.com/Gaalie pitz bull

    Good luck to all.

  • TsEv John

I will definitely be playing a Human Warrior. He is very op with greatsword
and double axes as second weapons. Combination with Hundred Blades
and Whirling Axes together with Frenzy , Signet of Rage and 1 or 2 stun/immobilize/knock down is 100% instant kill. thats why :D

  • Yelsew00

I will be a Norn Guardian because they challenge themselves tirelessly to do better as is needed when you are protecting allies.

  • Nm3

I really like the Ranger profession and I think that the Sylvari race is the most suitable for it because you’ll feel like a true wood archer who is in touch with nature …

  • Terror

Human/Warrior. My character will inspire to be like the great hero of the past (my
Guild Wars 1 character) that saved the world many times over. That and because there is something so beautiful about the human world, it’s not full of technology (asura) not full of destruction (like the charr). It’s a beautiful land of fields, small towns, colleges and the land filled with the architecture, a land where a once great diverse race, had brought all it’s beauty together.

  • dreamos

There is a supposed boost in Sylvari healing/prot, so sylvari guardian. ;)

  • merez

my fav race is human, I dont know why but it is always the human ^^ my fav combination is ranger and elementalist, elementalist can do a firewall and the ranger can shoot so the arrow is on the fire think it will be a good burst

  • Crille98fotboll@hotmail.com

Iam gonne be Asura Engineer becouse its look so cool when thye have there rifle and googles and it look like 2050 in the future :D

  • http://twitter.com/Klaus9090 Klaus Krummenauer

My favourite race/profession combo is Human/Mesmer, female, cause she’s animated quite elegantly which fits to her spells. :)

  • Jcowscows

I’m going for a Charr engineer. Who wouldn’t want to be a giant cat with guns and explosives??

  • Máté Lukács

I would like to play a Sylvari Necromancer because based on their race they understand how nature works pretty well. That’s why they can succeed in their profession better than other races. Also because I like their playstyle and whenever I have a chance to play a necromancer in any game: I just go for it :)

  • Tomparde

Charr ranger because i’ll play with animals only ! :)

  • Aegon

A Female Human Elementalist . I always choose a character with magics of destruction :D I like shooting at enemies from range.

  • Mindlessmanic

Male norn warrior cause they are always trying to be the best fighter to earn the best stories to be told of their battles

  • David Gregg

Sylvari mesmer due to the unique culture and lore behind the Sylvari and then mesmer due to the tricky mid-range combat style which feels much like a battle-mage type play-style.

  • Aeonrex597

Asura Warrior, because master tacticians come in all shapes, sizes, and professions.

  • Aeryxia

My favorite race and profession combo would have to be a Sylvari Elementalist. I’ve always loved playing characters that are in touch with nature, especially if they are elf-like. And I think the Sylvari would be a perfect choice to harness the power of the elements and bend them to my will! Also, I think the art direction for this race is just beautiful and cannot wait to be able to create a powerful little flower exactly to my liking. :D

  • Settar3

An Asura mesmer.  What could make an elusive class more elusive than being 3 feet tall? Count me in!

  • Vitovince

norn warrior because is tall stron and powerfull :P
