Hello GuildMag and all you eager GW2 fans!

The feature to which I am most looking forward is the integration of levelling and “endgame”. As a mature gamer (with wife, kids, job etc.) it has become exhausting grinding gear and logging for raids at fixed times. I hope that sidekicking, 5-man instances, PvP and dynamic events will be a more family-friendly game post-level-cap than the raiding in WoW & Rift have become.

I picked up GW1 in 2007 and fell in love – I played it over 10.000 hours. I am waiting for GW2 for almost as long now. I remember the feelings when the first trailer came! All the excitement, the tears of joy. I followed every piece and bit I could get and now we are here – almost at launch.
I am 30 years old and excited as a 5 year old kid. I didn’t think something as a computer game could get me this excited. But it does.
It’s been a great time, like waiting for christmas. At one point or another I was afraid GW2 will never be able to live up to my (really high) expectations, but it did :) After all the betas and stresstests (and ~150 hours played) I can say: this is THE game for me. So it’s safe to say that I will have a great time when the game releases, too.

I love the graphics, the armors, the combat, Tyria!, all the little details anet put into the game and it is so amazing to discover even the most hidden corners of the world. I am looking forward to getting better at jumping puzzles and not fall to my death that often^^

trying to battle yourself for hours trough the jumping puzzle only to get owned by the boss standing there :D

The puzzle design is super cool, they are placed at natural secret places, which makes the puzzles blend into the environment.

There is so many things, first of all I’m looking forward to some real badass PvP, where it’s not just a small five man team, against another five man team, but some real PvP where you outnumbered, where there is more than a couple of objectives, AND that you actually have to put in some effort and cooperation, to take the objective. One of the best things is that you don’t have any mana, what so ever, so that you can just keep-on popping your favorite spell. The next best thing is that you have the chance to play a REAL magician (elementalist), that ACTUALLY can USE all four elements, and not just specialize in element with no adversity, but have the possibility to pretty much do what ever the situation calls for. And the best thing is of course that the holy trinity is DEAD (hallelujah). It’s soooooo great to see a game break the conventions, and letting the players decide what they want to do with their game, and not pick out a role for them.

For me it is the “new” feeling. Away with the old MMO concepts, it is the time for new ways of gameplay. I started online MMs with Meridian 59 and mostly UO, many other games followed and nowadays there is simply nothing to it. During the beta events i saw the qualitys of gw2, the awesome freedom, the funny and breathtaking pvp.. thats not much u think? so many games were released today with bugs and failures in gamplay, just to release a game.
Then we the customers were messed up with a horrific lond time of new patches..sometimes these games will never be finished. Good to see GW2 is not those kind of games!

I stopped playing MMORPG a few years ago. I’m more of a casual player and 24/7 playing oder paying monthly for a game isn’t what I desire. But then there was the open beta of GW2. The stunning artworks and other infos I gathered out of curiosity awakened the need to get a place in the beta. Finally I got in and was hocked. I still can’t decide which class to play at first or which race. In their own way they are all unique and exciting. I quested with a charr and was enjoying the story, events and enviroment. I quess 5 charakter slots will be not enough for me! I hope I don’t get lost in this world. But I’m looking so much forward to explore and quest my way to the “end” with old and new friends. A Collectors Edition would be so awesome. Not just because of the game, but the items too! It would be an honor to get an all this awesome stuff. The frame and the miniature would sit on the best place in my room to be admired every day ;)

I’ve played in the 3rd beta event with a beta key and loved playing with my Ranger and it’s pet snow leopard. I would like to continue on playing with my designed character and continuing through with my story which I got addicted to and looking forward to see what happens next. This will be like my 5th attempt in a giveaway and I hope hope hope HOPE I can finally get a copy. That CE will look beautiful on my unused mantle I built for this occasion.

After playing many (as in MANY) games I’m looking forward to doing everything that is done differently in GW2. Quests? Nae. Events! Usual crafting? Não. Invent your own recipes! (I see a bit of Magicka in this one :)) And last but not least – char (as in character, not mutilated charr) development and the whole approach towards “builds”.

As a boy with Asperger’s Syndrome (autism), who doesn’t have many friends or anything, I’m going to try to live a new life in game. I’m forward to meeting new people and making new friends. Ofcourse I will explore the world, join the events and fight together with others in PvP battles.

I have played the game and it took away my depressiveness, noting that I’ve patiently waited about 5 years I definitely am going to put 5 years into the game.One of the many things I’ll be doing is I’ll be eating potato chips while looking at the champion troll annihilating everything in it’s path, but don’t worry I’ll gather a group of people to kill it though ;DAnother thing is that I want to be a great crafter(all disciplines, multiple characters!), I really want to craft Twilight and Sunrise (the two greatswords).
My objective is kinda to do everything possible in GW2.
I’ll be jumping off of cliffs, fighting sharks and hopefully commanding in WvWvW wars.But most of all I’m looking forward to having the time of my life (when it comes to gaming).

One of the most exciting features I’m looking is the two weeks WvWvW fights.

They insanity when 3 world collides into each other in a massive fight that feeling it is just adrenalinepumping!

Furthermore which I really like is that you can explore the world and
gain exp for it. Like going on high points for the Vistas. Next which is
really exciting GW has finally turned into a real MMORPG, you can fight
with everyone beside no more party exclusive maps anymore.

Actually there are many many more exciting stuff I can talk about since I
come from GW1, like the new crafting system, some points above
mentioned and you can play different races which causes different
advantages.

So what I’ll be doing first when GW finally gets released? I’ll be
making 5 characters from each race with very cool names which I have
reserved in GW1 :D

Then I go play with my main, probably Asura Engineer, explore entire
maps and when the opportunity arises I’ll join a WvWvW fight.

As much as the PvP content would interest me and the whole idea of being able to game with my friends again who I met in GW, one of the things that I look forward to the most is being able to take part in the dynamic events. These opportunities will allow us to work with people we may have never even encountered before (and may never again) yet we can all share the memories of the fun had in that event as well as potentially making more friends in the process. At the same time as this, I’ve always enjoyed the prospect of going through a personalised storyline and after all the content on the GW2 storyline, I really can’t wait to not only embark upon my own character’s journey but also go about finding out what has changed in lore since the end of Guild Wars.

Even though it has been fun to be on beta as I have waited GW2 since 2007, but it’s also frustrating the same as you can only play once a month in 1 BWE or random stress test for few hours (like yesterday) and if you don’t have time/work there you just miss it :(

I am waiting to play it when ever i have time to play, i can’t wait to continue my beloved charr characters personal story (i loved charr from that exact moment i saw them in Prophecies) and lastly, i can’t wait to get my well planned Charr-only guild up. It is, to be short, Charr-only RP spirited PvE/PVP guild that goes with guild war lores charr hierarchy. i had also this crazy idea of in WvW contacting other servers humans and trying them and my server charr re-act one of ascalon battle, where charr are trying to invade a keep and humans inside are defending the keep. Those are what i wait most from release.

It’s been a while since I played such a great mass PvP game. More than 7-8 years actually since I last played DaOC. So the thing im most looking for is the hundreds of hours fun which the WvW will provide in GW2. Don’t even want to think about the hours I will spend crafting/exploring. I’ve been in the beta and massively enjoyed it, I am most looking forward to getting back into the moving around whilst in combat, the thrill of being able to not just stand and just hit a button now and again but really engage with the enemies you’re fighting. Shifting position, dodging attacks, moving behind obstacles to avoid fire, its the best I’ve ever seen in any MMO to date. I can’t wait to get back in there!

PS The Azura are adorably cute.. think Disney’s Stitch (2 arms) and you’re getting there, really fun animations for movement with those.

Guild Wars 2 will offer a huge step forward for MMOs, it improves storytelling, combat and exploration! WvWvW is also a really cool concept. That being said, I’m looking forward to GW2 because it offers me choices for any class I play, I will always have choices! Weapons, skills, PvP, PvE. Also there is no montly fee and that’s always a plus! Warrior will be my main character, cause I am at home on the battlefield, I strive to achieve glory in battle and death in battle.

This game has the possibility to open a new era of massive multiplayer roleplaying, in every possible way! The combat is very entertaining and skill based, the PVE is the best i’ve ever seen (and i have tried quite a lot of games) with a dinamic world which never gets boring, the PVP has two options (structured and World vs World vs World) that are both spectacular (even if i’m looking more for the WvsWvsW, really similar to DaoC RvR). Also the social system is groundbreaking: no more searching for a specific class or role, you can enjoy your game with whoever tou want! Even doing events on the world map is really easy to get some help from a nearby player, and everyone get rewarded for this! Last, but not least, there’s no monthly fee, and this doesn’t ruin the gaming experience: not only you can play every content withou paying a single penny, but also you can buy the shop items with ingame gold!
And i haven’t mentioned the gorgeous graphics, or the soundtrack made by Jeremy Soule, the dye system… Too many things to look for!

I’m mostly going to spend hours/days in WvWvW. It is probably the best PvP idea materialized in a game so far. Will probably create a commando unit with friends to do specific tasks in each fight. Thief group for capturing/stoping reinforcements , Engineer group for hardcore support in castle defense, Guardian group for vanguard, Ranger group for guerilla warfare etc. Getting ecxited just by thinking the possibilites :P

Anyways, the thing I’m looking forward to most is the personal story! I love being able to go through the story with decisions that I have made and consequences I must face. It’s really quite amazing! I love the fact that I can chose the path I want, and I can chose a different path to discover a different story on my alternative characters. The best part of it is that every decision you make is permanently reflected in your home instance. For example (possible spoilers of the human story!), if you decide to save the orphanage and allow the hospital to burn, you will find the orphans in your home instance thanking you for saving them, and the families of those who fell in the hospital will be in grieving. It shows that your actions in the game have real consequences which can effect you for better or for worse. It’s a genius system, and a lot of thought and effort has been put in to it, and I appreciate every detail I see.
It’s rare for me to be so engrossed in a story, but the original Guild Wars series managed it, but Guild Wars 2 sucks me into it so much that I just don’t want to stop playing! I want to keep on going, and in my eyes that is a successful story.

What I’m
looking forward to the most in Guild Wars 2 is the game itself. I played in betas
and stress test and have not yet found one boring aspect of the game. The professions
and the races in the game are all kind of unique and for the first time in a

While “everything” would possibly be quite true, it would be too banal for an appropriate answer.

The best thing in Guild Wars 2 is that whatever you do, you’re probably going to enjoy it. Even if you are more of a PvE player – like I am -, the PvP side (especially WvW) is so entertaining that chances are high you will still have tremendous fun. However, personally I’m looking forward the most to roaming Tyria, exploring its beautiful vistas and sceneries, righting wrongs, fighting evil and protecting the innocent all while I’m breathing in the wonderfully crafted lore and history of Guild Wars and listening to Jeremy Soule’s thrilling and majestic scores.

And the best of all? I’m going to do all of the above with a character who I’m greatly attached to thanks to the myriad of customisation options and a brilliant personal storyline.

Hmm… well, that “everything” would’ve been much more concise, but it wouldn’t have contained the same emotional charge that Guild Wars 2 is evoking in me.

I’m mostly looking forward to WvW. I feel GW2 is a true successor to Dark Age of Camelot in terms of world PvP/RvR. Warhammer Online was alright, but the lack of a 3rd faction killed it.

I just found a bunch of pre pubescent 15 year olds calling me a noob and trolling the shit out of me. But when I played the beta’s and the stress test’s there were always people who wanted to play and adventure not just a bunch of douches.

I’m looking forward to being with a group of friends and seeing something in the distance and just going to it, getting slightly distracted by events going on in the world around us but eventually reaching our goal and then having to look at our maps just to see where we were and contemplating how in the world did we get to where we are. How can I say this started? I was born as a normal kid, loved to have fun and just live my life. At the age of ten I found out that I had muscular dystrophy (duschenne) and for a few years. . .I felt like an outcast. No one seemed to want to be my friend and I spent many hours alone. Damn, that really sucked and I just found myself gaming. It got boring playing NPCs and just feeling like the world just didn’t breathe. I tried reading but my reading speed was so high that I read Dante Alighieri’s Inferno for joy instead of being forced to read it. Then, bored and looking for something to waste my free time, I found Guild Wars. Such an incredible find and I loved getting to know people and so forth. It was a paradise from my everyday hell. . .ofc I grew up and became wiser. But if it wasn’t for the game then I wouldn’t have become an avid gamer, more social outside, and eventually gain some control over my raging emotions. It was weird but it blossomed into something absolutely beautiful in r/l, me just being able to be myself. I was following the Guild Wars 2 site for a long time. . .I would check it out of anticipation and was happy whenever I saw new stuff. I followed GW2 from nothing to everything. . .but sadly I wanted to get the CE but didn’t have the money to get it. Damn, need to buy wheelchair parts because I’m my own boss. . .18 grand for just the ability to be mobile? So many things wrong with that but that doesn’t concern me now. I play MMOs because the stress of being an outcast can be so dreadful. . .so when I play PvP I can get all the pent up anger out and PvE allows me to just relax. Gaming is like morphine to me, I need it or I would scream out in agony (okay that is an extreme lol), but it means a lot to me. MMOs give me the chance to be the man I never could be. So if I were to play Guild Wars 2 then I would say the main reason why is, I love when games make me forget about my disease. I look forward to the pure joy it brings to me, a man that has known many pains.

My brother and I bought GW1 almost seven years ago, we played that and we are playing it right now too. We cant meet up IRL too much, hes working a lot, so that’s where we meet sometimes. Most certainly the freedom. It’s the one of the few times I’ve played a game that offers so much openess and it’s an MMO on top of that! Feels more like a sandbox multiplayer RPG than an MMO to be honest, that’s a very good thing, mind you. Well this will be hard. I’m looking forward anything. But thats not the right answer. The right answer needs an argument.
I am looking forward the story. ArenaNet did a wonderful job about this. The fact that you can create your story- you can live in a country, in the city. If you want you can overcome your foes with charm, but if you want you can overcome them with dignity, with brain power. That’s like a book that you write with every Story quest you complete.
The PvP is the other feature i’m looking for, because it’s balanced. Everyone can heal himself when he wants. There aren’t healers. There aren’t tanks. And the WorldvsWorld is a nice feature that I like. If I find that I have a friend who is playing Guild Wars 2, but he’s on other World and I want to see his skills in combat this is a great chance for me and for him!
The final feature I’m looking forward is exploring the beautiful world of Tyria. Even from the starting zone you can see the remarkable work ArenaNet did with Guild Wars 2. When you play, you become one with you character. You become a citizen of Tyria and when you see the enviroment, you just can’t stop yourself, but continue exploring.

Whoah, where shall I start? As a major fanboy of this game with 2,800 hours in my back I must say what I am longing for must is to play with my friends. The absence of real players hit hard after Nightfall and the new hero companions. That is why the sidekick system is magnificent. I’m looking forward to battle with my oldschool guildies and best friends Henrik Sharpshooter, Jocheo Firemane, and lots more. New friends, old friends. Here comes the Oracle!

My journey in Guild Wars world started when I was roaming around the game section in an electronics store…when I saw a very interesting cover of a game..it was Nightfall. As soon as I entered the world I fell in love with the game. Of course, news of Guild Wars 2 was like Christmas had come early! What I am most looking forward to…..the personal story, I have always loved games which give you the opportunity to make the world different with every choice you make. And of course, the amazing graphics….I have slight fear that it will finally finish my laptop of though :D
