On Tuesday, I realized that I just needed to find one last Vista to get 100% completion for Lion’s Arch. The one I hadn’t located yet was in the southeast corner and apparently also lead to a jumping puzzle. I’m on the record more than once as being very uninterested in jumping puzzles (mostly because I truly suck at them), but this one time I thought I might make an attempt. After finding the vista, I then tried to go down the waterfall into the pool at the start of the puzzle.
It will surprise none of my guildies (or many of my readers, for that matter) that I didn’t survive the attempt. However, a kind stranger was nearby and able to revive me. The same player then attempted the near-impossible: leading Raphia through a jumping puzzle. At first, I didn’t realize that was what was happening, as I was too busy being awful at even the simplest of jumps. Eventually I realized that the same player was showing up just ahead of me, giving me vital clues about where to go next.
To make a long story short, I got too cocky and ended up down in some sort of dark cavern maze of pillars and crags — even my trusty torch didn’t give me enough light to navigate my way out. My friendly guide tried everything to help me through, but I was unable to figure out how to get out of the pit. After what seemed like hours (but was probably less than ten minutes of real time), I gave up in disgust, thanked my infinitely patient and helpful guide, and went back to a waypoint.
Tuesday just wasn’t a banner day for me in game, as the next thing I tried was the next phase of my ranger’s personal story. This had me going back to Divinity’s Reach to defend the Queen in her throne room from a mass of undead following a renegade Krytan soldier. I figured it was going to be easy, but after the cut-scene, I found myself without my ranger pet or my normal weapons. Yikes! Epic fail. I think I’ll try that again with some help.
To round out my week of petty annoyances, I completed exploring two separate areas and for each of them, the completion prize included the princely sum of 1 copper coin. Don’t spend it all in one place!

Official Guild Wars 2 news
- Guild Wars 2 wiki — Game status updates. “This is the current status of the most important issues we’re tracking with Guild Wars 2 live service. (This page is updated by ArenaNet staff and protected against non-admin editing.)” [Raphia: This page on the wiki should be one you bookmark for reference (I'll continue to list it every week).]
- GuildWars2.com — John Smith on the State of the Guild Wars 2 Economy. “I always keep a quote from Edward Coke around to remind me of the effect of informed individuals. Coke states, “Certainty is the mother of quiet and repose, and uncertainty the cause of variance and contentions.” With this aphorism in mind, let’s take a look at the current state of our economy.”
- In the Official Guild Wars 2 Forums, Colin Johanson writes about dungeon difficulty: “I’ll point out ironically, when we first turned on DoA back in GW1 the posts you’re seeing in this forum from a few folks about difficulty were the exact same comments everyone had about DoA. It was “impossible, mobs were just tuned to do insane damage and have huge HP, there was no tactics to defeat DoA”, etc. I went back and read through the original DoA launch feedback and it was literally identical to the comments folks on the forums are leaving now. We made the choice back then to stick with the difficulty, and give people time to learn how to play the dungeon better and overcome it. A few months later, people viewed it as the most fun thing in the game and totally reasonable without us changing anything.”
- GuildWars2.com — Announcing Guild Wars 2 for Mac. “Today we’re happy to announce another major milestone in the development of Guild Wars 2: going forward, ArenaNet will also be supporting the game on Apple’s Mac OS X. The Mac Beta client is available immediately for all Guild Wars 2 players. It shares the same features and connects to the same live game servers as the PC client. Anyone who purchases Guild Wars 2 can now play it on both PC and Mac.”
- GuildWars2.com — Mike Ferguson on the Current State of the World (vs. World). “Hey everyone, time for another world versus world update! Today I’ll be recapping some of the more important WvW related issues we’ve dealt with since we launched the game. First, let’s talk about queues for WvW.”
- On the official Guild Wars 2 Forums, Colin Johanson responded to the topic “Ladder / ranking / custom tournaments”: “All three of these features are planned, yes. It is our tradition to not discuss in detail any feature until we have it fully implemented enough that we can talk about it with confidence, as we don’t want to promise a feature to work one way and then end up having it work a different way. We’ll save details on all of those until they are ready to be talked about.”
- GuildWars2.com — Mike O’Brien on Account Security. “I’d like to take some time to talk about account security: how you can help keep your account secure, and what we’re doing to help keep your account secure. If you take one thing from this blog post, it should be this: in today’s security environment, you must use a unique password for any account you care about. If you currently use the same password for Guild Wars 2 that you use anywhere else, immediately change your Guild Wars 2 password to a new, unique password.” [Raphia: Let me put it as simply as possible: CHANGE. YOUR. PASSWORD. NOW.]
- On the official Guild Wars 2 forums, Mike Ferguson posted in the topic Queue size data from 9-14 to 9-18 (NA): “Attached are a collection of charts showing the queue size of each map for a given world. These charts are for the North American worlds. This data was collected from 8:00PM Sept 14th to 9:30PM Sept 18th. I believe the time zone listed is UTC, but I’m not 100% sure about that.”
- On the official Guild Wars 2 forums, Regina Buenaobra posted on the topic Free World Transfers: Limited to Once Every 24 Hours: “We want to give you a heads up: Starting with the new WvW rotation tomorrow, we will limit the free World transfer to one transfer every 24h. This should address some of the unwanted WvW exploits we have seen, while still giving people the opportunity to switch a server to play with their friends.”

- SteelSeries Guild Wars 2 Gear Review: Mousepad. “A few weeks ago, GuildMag was given the pleasure of reviewing SteelSeries’ Guild Wars 2 headset and mousepad courtesy of SteelSeries and ArenaNet. After playing with both for some time now, I present to you the first part of our verdict on the gear. Read on to find out what we thought about the Guild Wars 2 mousepad.”
- Dynamically Speaking Episode 7: To Level 80 and Beyond. “The second part of our overall review is here – and in a new video format too! Once again, Steven and I are joined by Ally to round up our thoughts on Guild Wars 2 overall (especially its higher level content).”
Fan articles and blog posts
- TalkTyria.net — Five things I DON’T like about Guild Wars 2. “Many moons ago I had written a draft for an article that never made its way to the sunlight. It was kind of an open letter to the community in which I tried to explain how Guild Wars 2 was not going to be perfection, that no fan new or old should expect it to be, and how that didn’t matter in the long run because it was still going to be a fantastic journey.” [Raphia: A nice list of gripes. I didn't agree with all of them, but there's much merit here.]
- GW2Guru — The Mysterious Mystic Forge. “Considering the very nature of the forge and the fact that new information is discovered everyday, writing an article which information wouldn’t be considered old the next day has been challenging. Instead of discussing every little thing in great detail, this article aims to explain what the Mystic Forge is, how one can use the forge for different purposes, and what patterns have so far been identified in its behavior.”
- Chronicles of Tyria — GW2 Daily meme: Jumping puzzle [Raphia: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!]
- Guild Wars 2 Forums — Engineer: In-Depth PvP Guide, Tips, and Tricks. “Hey all. This is Tallman (Briggs). This guide is intended to cover the basics of the Engineer for people trying to break into the sPvP setting. I plan on covering the pros and cons of the Engineer’s weapons, traits, and utilities, as well as share some general tips and tricks.” [Raphia: Recommended by Cuth at Flame Throwing].
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — Noobs and Gold Guides. “Guild Wars 2 is very much a newbie gold making economy. Players are slow to grasp the way the trading post works, and I don’t mean the simple tasks of buying and selling. We all picked that up almost instantly, but the way players trade is down right silly.”
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — How to Use the Mystic Forge. “Located in northern tip of Lion’s Arch, the Mystic Forge is a mystery to most players. However, ArenaNet definitely intended for this to be one of the easiest ways to gather gear for your character. This and scripted storyline dungeons are meant to gear your character throughout the leveling process.”
- Guild Wars Insider — AETA: 5 Tips for Underwater Combat Using Grenades. “It’s time for another meeting of the Alchemists, Tinkerers, and Explosions Anonymous! Today I want to talk about how Engineers are faring underwater. I see a lot of us struggling with underwater combat when we start out because we’re really gimped as far as harpoon gun skills go. Our harpoon skills have good utility, but lack the direct damage needed to kill underwater baddies. After accidentally switching to the Grenade Kit while swimming, though, I think I’ve found the answer.”
- GW2Guru — The Recipe for Crafting Your Legendary [Including Screenshots]. “With great thanks to the Guild Wars 2 community, we now have the formula for crafting legendary weapons. Below is the Master Recipe for legendary weapons and all the sub-components required to craft them”
- Taugrim’s MMO Blog — Guild Wars 2 ‘Hammer Gun’ Warrior Build. “As I’ve said before, GW2 builds are all about tradeoffs.”
- Nerdy Bookahs — Ask Nerdy Bookahs. “From time to time, we have a look at which search terms were used that led readers to our blog. Occasionally, there are questions that were entered that led people to one of our entries but we know they did not find the answer here. We may have something related to the question but it’s not the answer to what they wanted to know. So we thought we should start this new column: Ask Nerdy Bookahs! We will have a look at the questions that led to our blog and will try to answer them (if they’re related to Guild Wars 2, of course).”
- Massively — Four ways Guild Wars 2 is like EVE Online. “With its single-shard server structure and sandbox ruleset, EVE Online seems to have little in common with a sharded fantasy themepark like Guild Wars 2. But dig a little deeper past GW2‘s fluffy exterior and you’ll find it shares some core game mechanics and ideas with the world’s biggest PvP sandbox. GW2‘s Trading Post bears a striking resemblance to EVE‘s Jita 4-4 market, and many of the same market tricks that work in New Eden have proven just as effective in the land of Tyria.”
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — Buy Mystic Coins and Sticks of Butter. “I feel like I’m on the Mad Money show proclaiming “Buy Buy Buy” with bull noises going off in the background. Mystic Coins have gone up significantly every single day since the release of the game. I remember on day one how they were 1 copper each, and then suddenly players realized what they were for and the price broke 30 copper. Then 60, then a silver, and on and on to today’s price.”
- Guild Wars Insider — What It Takes to Make A Legendary. “In an effort to help players understand the process that is required to make a legendary weapon, Reddit user Kurunir created a handy infographic. The process is intense and will take a good amount of time to create, but in the end you’ll have a legendary weapon all your own.”
- Taugrim’s MMO Blog — The “Skill Cap” of Guild Wars 2 PVP and the Implications. “Guild Wars 2 provides the highest “skill cap” PVP environment of any MMORPG I’ve ever played, even more so for GW2 tournaments.”
- Divinity’s Reach — And the Grind Begins… “For some unknown reason, I am set out for the epic-est of epic weapons, called the rainbow shortbow by the less informed, the Almighty Lover by me, and the Dreamer to the rest of the intelligent world. I have assembled the Dreamer components in a word document and mapped each item out to it’s origin or source, and the amount of grind needed to complete it was staggering.”
- Shards of Imagination — Ascalonian Catacombs conquered! “So, yesterday me and some guildies finally completed the story mode of Ascalonian Catacombs. Or perhaps I should say I finally completed it since the others already did that on Friday. I am getting ahead of myself though so let me just give a forewarn about a few details about this post: I am making it purposefully vague as to not spoil things for anyone who didn’t do the story mode of Ascalonian Catacombs yet.”
- Guild Wars Insider — Death Becomes You: Leveling A Necromancer From 41 To 80. “Some of you may have already hit level 80 by now (my main, Gaangnam the asuramancer, did so last week). Congratulations! Now you have the entire game laid out before you like a buffet. For those who are new to our profession, or have just started an alt, this is the second part of the necromancer leveling guide for you.”
- Reddit — Save the rare weapon/armor skins you get from your personal story. “In your personal story you will get a lot of weapons/armor pieces with visuals that are otherwise very difficult to get. For example, I think everyone gets an “Avenger” weapon which has the T1 cultural skin for their race. You will also get a bunch of other weapons with unique exotic skins.”
- Guild Wars 2 Junkies — Diessa Plateau 100% Completion Map and Cheatsheet. “Next up in our series of Guild Wars 2 area completion guides is Diessa Plateau, the second charr racial area, intended for players between levels 15-25. The area’s home of some interesting challenges, included three jumping puzzles, a cow-flinging catapult, and plenty of old, decrepit ruins waiting to be explored.”
- Random Diversions — Guild Wars 2 – Food Farms. “This is a concise listing of the various cooking material farms in Guild Wars 2. It’s currently incomplete, but I’ll be adding entries as I find them. Zones are listed in alphabetic order. As always if you have an update or correction, feel free to leave a comment. I’ve tried to verify all these sites, but when it’s 3:00 AM and you’re running from trolls… well, you get the idea.”
- Hunter’s Insight — Where To Find Jumping Puzzles. “Updated my Puzzle location guide with Fireheart, Frostgorge, Straits of Devastation, Malchor’s Leap, and Cursed Shore.”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — Mystic forge recipes. Know which items will get your the most for your time. “Today I want to share with you all a Reddit post that I have been following for the last week that pertains to making gold using the Mystic Forge. The reason why this post is both interesting and important is because for most of the things we do on the Mystic Forge it seems like it is random. While some of the things are random there are also a large number if items and things that can be controlled as well. It all depends on what you are putting into the forge of course.”
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — 12 Gold Per Hour Flipping Method. “I was messing around with buy orders when I came across a particularly lucrative market (12 Gold Per Hour Doing This!!!) in the form of Major and Minor Sigils. In rare cases, the minor sigil sold for more than the major one! Crazy right?! I know that’s nuts (it was the case for major/minor sigils of speed) but it wasn’t the primary way I made money.”
- The Guild Wars Gazette — Talking Tyria: Redefining the Endgame. “One of the more controversial topics in Guild Wars 2 is how Arena Net handles the endgame. To give a quick definition for those not too versed in MMO lingo, the endgame is defined as progression once you hit the level cap. This is the point where you no longer improve your character stats/skills based on gaining experience and levels from quests or killing mobs. What you do once you reach this point defines what the endgame is for a particular game.”
- Guild Wars 2 Hub — The Story So Far. “There is a lot of history and lore inside the Guild Wars universe and many events that unfolded within the original game have a profound impact on the story in Guild Wars 2. Like any good sequel, GW2 does an excellent job in sharing this wealth of information with the player as they progress through the story.”
- Divinity’s Reach — Personal Story. “I finished my Personal story probably a week ago, and upon reflecting, I still realize I am upset with the last half of the story.”
- Guild Wars 2 Junkies — How Worthwhile is Crafting in Guild Wars 2? “Many players anxiously awaited Guild Wars 2′s crafting system because of the ways in which it differs from other crafting systems found in most MMORPGs. The discovery system, the fact that crafting cast times aren’t stagnant, the idea of one character having access to all of the crafting disciplines, and, of course, the fact that crafting gives pretty awesome experience all ties into this original excitement.”
- Guild Wars 2 Hub — From the Editor’s Lab – Volume Four. “In the latest thrilling episode of From the Editor’s Lab, we announce the winner of our “Name that Feature” contest, discuss the new look of GW2Hub, and shed some light on our upcoming plans. All this and much more awaits you below!”
- Reddit — Vaporial’s GW2 Karma Vendor Spreadsheet. “Hi guys! I was wondering if anyone else already has a Karma Vendor list up. I’ve been working on it since maybe 4 or 5 days ago. I thought it would be useful to create this, and so I did. Using MS Word is definitely sloppy so I used MS Excel instead. “
- Guild Wars Insider — The Vanguard: Guardian Leveling 41-80. “Since this is the Guardian column, we’re going to move beyond general leveling advice and focus on specifics, broken down by level bracket. If you’d like to read more about general tips and guides, we have an extensive guide/tutorial section ready and waiting for you. “
- Elemental Attunement — Weekly Attunement – Cantrip Master. “This week I have been reading through a lot of posts on the GWO Elementalist Fourms and the a lot of posters have been concerned about the viability of builds that aren’t ‘glass cannons’ (high burst damage with low survability) and in particular the lack of ‘tanky’ builds that can hold damage off team members. So I present to you a build I have been working on to prove that an elementalist can tank with the best of them, but through evasion and manipulation rather than straight damage absorption.”
- Kill Ten Rats — Achievement Locked. “Some of the GW2 top-tier items, particularly legendary weapons, seem like rather long-term goals. A guildmate calculated the karma needed for his goals and landed in the low seven digits. Some people will react to this with speed runs and hard work to optimize accumulation. Some will quit from frustration (or satiation, after completing all those speed runs).”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — Double you trading post gold using one of the most simplistic strategies. “I want to thank Malachi Draven for this guest post. It was originally a post on our forums, but I thought it was an interesting read. It’s practice is as simplistic as they come. It will not get you rich all by itself, but it is a way to get some easy gold when you are just starting out with the game.”
- Mistress of Illusions — You’re What Sucks About This Game. “I generally try to avoid rants, but I’ve observed some interesting things while playing Guild Wars 2 that I felt worthy of discussion. Many of us have hailed the developers’ efforts at promoting positive player relations through game mechanics in Guild Wars 2. We don’t compete for gathering nodes. We don’t roll for drops. We share credit for kills whether we’re partied or not. In fact, grouping is so seamless some players even think they are solo’ing the entire game (I suppose it’s possible they’re always some place nobody else is, but that seems unlikely.) Still, the only sure fire way to guarantee players aren’t jerks to one another is to make a single player game.”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — Tyria Guide is a scam with stolen information from free sites. “I want to apologize to those of you who are uninterested in this sort of post. I always strive to write gold making posts for you guys, but this really needs to be said today. I really don’t intend to make a habit out of this because I know that a large number of you would never buy a guide. As someone who has a voice in the Guild Wars 2 community that can reach many people I feel it is important for me to let you guys know about a scam when there is one present.”
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — Master’s Salvage Kit Gold Making. “There aren’t too many opportunities for this strategy, but when you find one that works it is phenomenal for making gold. Basically, all you have to do is follow these steps to make gold with a Master’s Salvage Kit.”
- Kill Ten Rats — Order Up, Trahearne. “The personal story is a pretty fun chunk of Guild Wars 2. Every 10 levels there is a little self-contained story arc, and the rewards for completing the arcs are pretty good. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the personal story, especially for the plenty of “hmmm” moments they give regarding the lore. I would say that it is solidly on par with the original Guild Wars series with the bit extra regarding branching decisions.”
- Malefic Incantations — Three weeks later: my thoughts and a special giveaway! “It should come as no surprise that I’ve been quiet on the blogging front lately–as I’m sure you have, I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2! On a kneejerk I decided to roll not four but seven alts in order to represent all 8 classes and park all of the names that I want into the future; more on my characters in a future post though.”
- Femme Gamer — Guild Wars 2. “At the time of writing this tome, it has been 11 days since we installed the game. I will describe that period in succinct style, using the world-famous “Facial Expression Mood Modifier Encapsulation System – FEMMES, a homage to the classic 8-bit game review magazine Zzap! 64)”
- The Guild Wars Gazette — Farmer’s Handbook: Kessex Hills – Basic Crafting Materials. “Welcome back to another edition of Farmer’s Handbook! This time we take a look at the centaur-contested land, Kessex Hills. As usual, this will be split into two parts. One for basic crafting materials and another for fine crafting materials.”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — Guild Wars 2 market analysis by Sam. “Hi, I’m Sam, I do high-level thinking. What am I talking about when I say high-level thinking? I mean looking at a game and try to discern what the developers wanted out of the marketplace they were creating.”
- Divinity’s Reach — Photos Thus Far. “I’ve completed 72% of the world map. After reaching 80, I went back and started again in the starting zones earning a 100% completion for each map and have completed all of them. I also finished the last of the two cities today, Hoelbrak and the Grove. I started realizing some of the vistas provided great pictures, so I started print screening like crazy over the last couple of days.”
- Distilled Willpower — Monetization. “Phew-ee honestly, I put my head down for a few hours and the internet explodes. Last night a GW2 YouTuber posted to the official forums stating that his videos had been flagged for using copyrighted content. This means that the YouTuber has chosen to “monetize” his videos which, it seems, is against the GW2 terms of use and the video has subsequently been requested (by whomever) to be removed.”
- Reddit — CALM. DOWN. As a GW2 video creator and partner, some clarification. “I have been following this drama for a bit now and figured I’d try and clarify a few basic concepts. Lets get a few things out of the way. This is not a new thing. Not for Guild Wars 2 itself or for gaming videos in general. I am a YouTube partner, part of a network. In other words, this sounds like something that affects me. Does it do so? No. Do you see any flagged videos? I certainly do not.”
- Guild Wars 2 Junkies — Loot Scaling: How Does it Work? “For anyone who’s journeyed to a lower level area in order to help friends, complete exploration objectives, or gather crafting materials has noticed that part of the time, loot scales with a character’s level. The rest of the time, players receive loot equal to the area they’re in. This is quite an interesting mechanic in theory, one that attempts to strike a balance that meets the objectives of multiple players.”
- Imgur — Got stuck under Orr somehow. Who knew it was afloat? “So I decided to explore a lit- what wtf is that!?”
- Guild Wars 2 Hub — Black Lion Underground – 20 September 2012. “In these diary entries and armed with 1 gold, I’m going to see just how far I can get wheeling and dealing and in our newly named column, will be showing you just how to do the same (hopefully). Please note that all prices are based on the time of writing and are subject to change based on market fluctuations.”
- Meodia — GW2 Dungeons: Hard, brutal, unforgiving, or just different? “People are having a hard time adjusting to the difficulty presented in dungeons, not only did they get used to ‘tanking and spanking’ by playing any of the other MMOs, but they have also gotten used to how easy and simple it is to progress outside dungeons that now this seems to be a big problem for them. If you just barge in and spam your skills in hope that you will succeed, then you couldn’t be more wrong. Sure some parts of the dungeons are obviously harder than others, but all of them can be beaten if you just know what to do, and more importantly, how exactly to play.”
- Kill Ten Rats — Crafting From the Hilt. “Possibly the best quality of life improvement in Guild Wars 2 is being able to discover recipes with materials from the bank. Last night I made sure to run a play session of crafting, as cooking can take a long time, and it was great.”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — How to make gold without opening the trading post. “How have you been doing with gold making? I would bet that just like many others you are having a bit of trouble. It isn’t impossible to make gold by any means, but it is a difficult in the current economic landscape we’re in. The situation we’re in leave razor thin profit margins and the globally shared market make competition more severe than we ever expected.”
- Guild Wars 2 Hub — Wayfarer Foothills Skill Challenge Guide. “Continuing our series of guides to the explorable maps in Guild Wars 2, we’ve put together a complete guide to the skill challenges found in Wayfarer Foothills. While many of these challenges can be completed solo, a few will typically need multiple players to complete. Wayfarer Foothills is also home to one of our favorite skill challenges in-game, so be sure to read on for the full details.”
- tl-dr — Guild Wars 2 caught with its pants down, and I want to play commando in a robe, but we can’t have everything. “I swear to you, today’s post is of utmost importance and seriousness.”
- Kitten Crafting Station — Uncovering Disciplines: Artificer, Huntsman & Weaponsmith. “After a couple of posts related to other subjects, it is time to once again get back to uncovering the remaining crafting disciplines. The same way as armor crafting disciplines resemble each other, so do the weapon crafting disciplines, and hence this blog post covers all them: the artificer, the huntsman and the weaponsmith.”
- Guild Wars 2 Riches — Increase your gold making income by 150% or more with two simple tips. “I would wager a bet that by now you’ve at least taken a look at Guild Wars 2’s crafting disciplines. If you’re like most you have cobbled together a few levels using the materials you’ve obtained through just playing the game as intended. You were able to make a few items and quickly realized that they don’t sell for anything which makes it impossible to actually turn a profit. Don’t worry—you are not alone.”
- Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — Gold Guide Economic Report 9/20/2012. “Hello again, it’s time for another Economic Report for you gold makers out there in Guild Wars 2. Instead of showcasing the four top ten lists in the trading post as I have done the past two weeks, this time I’m going to focus on two ways for you to speculate and make more gold in the process.”
- Hunter’s Insight — Dungeons and Drag Ass. “I haven’t really been blogging very much. It’s interesting to me how much of a substitution blogging had become for gaming. I’m not going to stop blogging and I’m absolutely filled with opinions on all things Guild Wars 2 but I’d so much rather be playing, even right now as I type this, than writing about it. Writing feels like a bit of a drag when I could be doing something.” [Raphia: You're certainly not the only one, Hunter!]
- Guild Wars 2 Hub — Conjured Weapons Guide. “Elementalists in Guild Wars 2 have unique access to conjured weapons, temporary weapons that they can wield take on the enemies of Tyria and those residing in the mists and also share the benefits with another ally. Our guide takes a look at how the weapons works, beneficial traits, and how each weapon plays.”

- Gamebreaker.tv — Looking at Leveling Curve, a Journey Through Guild Wars 2. “One of the more contentious issues that have arisen in the early weeks of Guild Wars 2 – other than the highly debated butterscotch or buttercream dye choice – is the level curve. Having explored Queensdale on my guardian with the wide eyed abandon of Homer Simpson in The Land of Chocolate, I had absolutely no problem with the level curve. I finished the first area at level 15 and a half, putting me bang on target to move onto Kessex Hills or Brisban Wildlands.”

- YouTube — WoodenPotatoes: RE: ArenaNet are you serious? “Throwing my hat in the ring here. Thread I’m talking about: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/105r6r/arenanet_are_you_serious/. The team paradigm link didn’t really help: http://www.teamparadigm.net/forums/General/397/ArenaNet-are-you-serious. The statement, for example, that no monetized videos for GW2 can get on YouTube is both misleading and factually incorrect. Anyways, hai. This week, changes come to Elementalists who might be sad — due to the Signet of Air change — that they cannot blind people from orbit. Yet they can be happy that they now have Whirlpool that functions in the water.”

Despite his limitations, he maintains a healthy sense of humor by titling his livestream show: ‘Disabled Gaming: Look Mom, no hands!’”

- Chronicles of Tyria — Story and Story-telling in Guild Wars 2. “Post-writing comment: this certainly isn’t a moan or whine, but it did turn out slightly more critical than I was expecting. I would like to note here that I have thoroughly enjoyed playing Guild Wars 2 thus far, and that the points raised here are only small and not massively detrimental to my enjoyment of the game!”
- Chronicles of Tyria — Chapter 1: Part 2. “We had begun to travel onward; we stopped for a brief meal then continued as the sun signaled that it was mid-day. The fields of green branched into the horizon, meanwhile my mood had not changed one bit. Daniel’s, however, had seemed to become even more cheerful (if that was even possible).”
- Chronicles of Tyria — Day 1 – Through Caledon Forest. “A page was missing here; a realisation that suddenly brought me back to reality as I ran my finger along the torn edge. Nevertheless, nothing had changed; the world was still dark and silent. The candle flame burned straight and steady, and the wax was beginning to spill out of its cup and onto the floor.”
- Kill Ten Rats — Dear Bookah. “They were godfearing people those bookah. Those shrieking natives of the jungle. There was no love in the relationship. Drojjenny tells me that they had one scroll said to have been written by the druids that was passed around in strict rotation. It was stolen by a skritt, two years before this part of the jungle was abandoned altogether.”
