Wanted: Community Researchers and More!

GuildMag has opened its doors to new team members once again, and is looking for two ‘Community Researchers’ this time, as well as a brand new editor! Fancy becoming part of the GuildMag team? Find the details below.

Position: Community Researcher

Description:
As a Community Researcher, you’ll be working alongside Valiant to help compile the weekly Community Roundup and other community-related posts to be published to the website. Your main task will be to gather information from various fansites and their respective forums, as well as to research into upcoming events and any other general community news. You may also be asked to help proofread the Community Roundup and write sections of your own to be included in it, though this will not always be the case.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must fit all of the criteria below.

  • Ability to communicate well and work as part of a team
  • Take an active interest in the Guild Wars community (i.e. post regularly on any Guild Wars forum, keep updated with fansite news, attend in-game events etc)
  • Good written English skills (including grammar and punctuation)
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Dedication to your role

Bonuses:
You do not have to fit any of the below criteria in order to apply, though it may be beneficial if you do. Application acceptance is not based on whether or not you can comply with these.

  • Ability to translate other languages to English and vice versa
  • Willingness to help host GuildMag-sponsored events (this will not include using your own items as prizes unless you wish to do so)
  • Ability to produce graphics to be used for community posts to the website

Position: Editor [You can still apply for this, but currently we have many applications]

Description:
As an editor, you’re responsible for the proofread of all articles, together with Malchior Devenholm (Editor-Lead) and the rest of the editor team, you make sure that all articles are checked on their grammar and structure.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must fit all of the criteria below.

  • Your English is on the native level
  • You’ve got a good sense for grammar and can also combine this with the personal writing style of the writers
  • You need to be available to work with deadlines (normally 6-8 days extra for editors)

Bonuses:
You do not have to fit any of the below criteria in order to apply, though it may be beneficial if you do. Application acceptance is not based on whether or not you can comply with these.

  • Knowledge of Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2
  • A track record/example of previous editing work

    You can turn comments off in the Discussion panel of the Edit Post screen.

    And you might want to mention somewhere that it’s volunteer. You’ve written it up so professionally it seems like a real job.

    I believe he has just taken my old application post and reconfigured that for this new one.
