The past few days, GuildMag has been offline for maintenance. We’d like to take this opportunity to explain what’s been happening, both server-side and with GuildMag as a whole.
Let’s kick things off with why we’ve been offline. The simple answer is we’ve been transferring where our website is hosted, and the process of moving (and re-configuring) files has taken up a huge chunk of our time. We’d have liked to have gone through this process with no downtime for the site, but things don’t always work out as planned. Fortunately for us, the time taken to move has given us an opportunity to update the website in preparation for a new addition to GuildMag, which we’ll be unveiling as soon as possible. This is the sixth (if I’m counting correctly!) revision to GuildMag’s website layout, and hopefully our last for quite some time, but it’s a much-needed one in terms of added features that’ll really help us create new content and push out those magazines at a quicker and more reliable pace.
Looking forward, we’re shifting our focus to regular HTML magazines. For some time now, they’ve been on the back burner, but we’re pleased to say that once again, they’ll become the main focus of GuildMag. Our last issue went down really well, and we’re hoping that Issue 10 will do the same when it’s released later this year. Of course, we’ll still be producing our weekly podcast (which is due to make a return shortly) and maintaining our website articles, in addition to the aforementioned new project we’re undertaking.
And that’s about it for what’s been happening over the past few days and weeks. We’d like to thank everyone for their support of GuildMag over its lifetime; none of this is possible without you!
