Not much has been happening in the community for this past week. I’m guessing everyone is still recovering from the exploding reveal of the Engineer last week! (Hehe, Lame jokes FTW!) Anyways, Summer is almost here, which means the summer gaming conventions are coming up too. Here’s the latest from the community.
→ Guild Wars 2 | Video Contest 2011 – Winners
→ ArenaNet Blog | Frequently Asked Questions about the Engineer
→ ArenaNet Blog | ArenaNet’s Tradeshow Summer
Fansites, Forums and Blogs
→ Hunter’s Insight | QFT: More On The Engineer
Another great QFT from Hunter’s Insight. They quote from more interviews regarding the Engineer. I agree with Hunter: “We know so much about Guild Wars 2 now, the next step would be playing in a beta of some kind”
→ Casual Is As Casual Does | A Response to MMO Tomb
Randomessa from Casual Is As Casual Does combats some of the disappointing statements made by MMOTomb regarding Guild Wars 2. Make sure to read the comments to see how MMO Tomb responded!
→ Talk Tyria | Guild Wars 2 Demo Review and the Guardian
Izari from TalkTyria talks about the Guild Wars 2 demo, the Guardian profession, movement, other game mechanics.
→ Relics of Orr | Episode 41: Omspillbared
Relics of Orr is joined with Tasha from Split Infinity Radio and Tigerfeet from Secret Agent Cats. They discuss Engineer mechanics and other information revealed from the Gamereactor interviews . Also note that official podcasts for Relics of Orr will be released bi-weekly, but they will be accepting audio projects from the community to create a community mash-up podcast. Look forward for that in the future!
No new events for Guild Wars 1. Congrats to the two winners of the Video Contest and to all participants!

The Last Words
Out of all of the conventions that ArenaNet has planned to attend, I’m most excited about Gamescon. In Gamescon 2009, they revealed the world of Guild Wars 2 with their breath-taking trailer. In Gamescon 2010, they revealed the gameplay of Guild Wars 2 with their award-winning demo. I wonder what new surprises Arena Net will bring to Gamescon 2011…
