Wintersday Workshop

The Halloween Workshop on GuildWarsGuru feels like only days ago, but as all artists know: ‘There ain’t no rest for the wicked’. As soon as a work of art is done, it’s time to move on and start the next…

This is no different for all those Guild Wars fan artists that participated in the Halloween Workshop (and perhaps also in the official Halloween Contest), because ‘lo and behold’ the Wintersday Workshop thread has already opened, right here. Even though the thread is only a few days old, it already spans multiple pages. So far eighteen artists have entered the competition, and the first few sketches have already been scrutinized and received criticism and advice.

The deadline for the workshop entries is one day after the still-to-be announced official contest. But, seeing that the Workshop is more about progress and thread participation, you might want to think twice about just sending in your work of art at the very last moment. Instead, participate in the thread! Share your progress, and take criticism into account, because in the end your work of art will only get better, as will your general enjoyment of the whole creation progress.

The workshop has 7 categories in which participants can enter, yielding a total of 11 ‘winners’ due to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places within certain categories. The prizes to be won are still a ‘work in progress’, as the workshop is looking for donations to help out. Tzu is also looking for some help in regards to the organization of this workshop, since a large turn-out like the recent and very successful Halloween workshop is expected. If you feel like you can help out, head over to the thread and offer your assistance!

But, perhaps more important: if you like art, are an artist yourself, or aspire to be an artist, head over to the thread, sign up and start creating or just participate by sharing your views…
