This weekend we’ll have a lot of new players joining us, as ArenaNet kicks off another free weekend trial. If they enjoy playing the game as much as we do, they’re also offering a limited time sale on digital and digital deluxe licenses.

Official Guild Wars 2 news

  • GuildWars2.com — Try Guild Wars 2 for Free This Weekend April 19-21. “Now’s your chance to see what changes we’ve made to the most critically acclaimed MMO of 2012! From April 19-21, 2013 we’re hosting another huge Guild Wars 2 free trial weekend.”
  • On the official Guild Wars 2 forums, Devon Carver posted on the topic Changing WvW Match Reset Times: “As part of our ongoing effort to improve the game experience with changes big and small, we’ve decided to change the time of the WvW match resets. The current time is 00:00 UTC on Saturdays, which is mighty inconvenient for our European friends who want to get in on the action of the newest match right away. We’ve decided that moving the reset time back by 2 hours to 22:00 UTC on Friday night to try and find a more happy medium for NA and EU servers. This will go into effect beginning this week and will be the new time going forward. Hopefully this makes it easier for you all to jump right in at the start of a new matchup.”

  • GW2 Guru — Guru – [sPvP] State of the Game on April 26th. “This month we’ll be joined again by ArenaNet Developers Karl McLain and Jonathan “Chaplan” Sharp. We’ll have some show notes available for you guys sometime prior to the show, but expect discussion regarding upcoming changes in the April patch.”
  • GW2 Guru — Skill Division: WvW and PvE. “Over in the land of the official forums, Jonathan Sharp has pointed out that the planned skill splits between PvP and PvE will also stretch into World Vs World. He states they plan to start the splits in the upcoming patch, which more than likely is the April 30th update announced yesterday (though the date specifically has not been confirmed).”
  • Guild Wars 2 Trading Post — Salvaging For Jute Scraps. “I place buy orders on level 12 Precise Country Gloves and Precise Country Boots. They have a 17 copper and 18 copper minimum buy order but nobody seems to be placing orders right now so I got 100 of them for that minimum price.”
  • Why I Game — Random Fun and Adventures in WvW. “Lemme just state something up front. I find very little point in blogging about who took what keep on what hour of which day, or how many loot bags so-and-so has dropped, or which guild or server is all that or sucks. You can read that sort of stuff everywhere else.”
  • Healing the massesGW2 Combat Mode and Mouselook. “I always professed how much I liked he combat style of Tera and how free flowing it felt to play with the mouse camera locked. In other games where you hold down that right mouse button for hours it honestly leaves me rather sore by the end, and having a mouselook just frees up a lot of movement making it more naturally. I had one running most of the time in TSW and it made combat feel far more natural. Guild Wars 2 just seems made for such a thing considering the small skill set and the ease with which it could transfer to a controller so I was naturally looking for a similar function.”
  • Black Lions Profit — Question: Advancing to Bulk Flipping. “I’m having a bit of a problem moving into the bulk trading market because I keep hearing everyone talk about blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc. but when I check the TP, it’s not profitable? The buy orders might be like 40c, 41c, 42c, and the sell orders are like 49c, 50c, 51c. Do you guys not undercut and overcut and just place those orders just before the wall or am I doing it wrong?”
  • Black Lions Profitgw2tp.net overview (Free/Premium). “The gw2tp.net tool is for the most part free, with the opportunity to pay a minimal monthly fee to cover the website’s operating costs and access special premium features. Definitely give it a try!”
