Video: Guild Wars 2 Sound Design | ArenaNet Blog

Part 2 of ArenaNet’s sound design videos is up. This time around we’re treated to demonstrations of the team’s toys and how they create the game’s audible experience through scripting and mixing. One of their goals, as Drew Cady very nicely put it, is to make it so “you sound like you.” Also James Ackley describes their dynamic mixing system—”whatever you’re focusing on is more audible than the things you don’t care as much about”—which goes to show how the philosophy behind the game’s design plays a part in every aspect of it, especially the sound.
